Gas interconnection pipeline between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Greece

The construction of the gas interconnection pipeline with the Republic of Greece in length of 67 km, from Negotino to the border with the Republic of Greece. The project is being financed by EIB investment grant within the WBIF and EBRD program. The natural gas interconnector between Macedonia and Greece is planned to be 123 kilometers long (Macedonian and Greek side) and to stretch from Nea Mesimvria to Negotino via Gevgelija and connect the two national natural gas transmission systems.

The initial capacity will be 1.5 billion cubic meters per year, with the possibility of expansion up to three billion cubic meters per year, also studies have been conducted in order for the gas pipeline to have adequate specifications for hydrogen transport.
