Basic technical parameters of the natural gas transmission system

The natural gas transmission system in the Republic of North Macedonia starts with a connection point at the interconnection point Kyustendil - Zidilovo of the Macedonian with the Bulgarian natural gas transmission system and is located on the eastern border in the area called Deve Bair and extends in the direction of the regions of Kriva Palanka, Kratovo, Kumanovo and Skopje.

The metering system in the launching and receiving station consists of 3 metering lines (of which 2 are operating and one is spare), and has a computer system and equipment required to determine the гас quantities and quality. To measure the gas quantity, each metering line is equipped with two independent electronic metering systems: ultrasound measurement (commercial) and aperture measurement (control). The capacity of the metering lines is 180,000 Nm33/h. The designed capacity of the natural gas transmission system is 800 million Nm3 per year, with the possibility of increasing it to 1,200 million Nm3.3 годишно, со можност за зголемување до 1.200 милиони Nm3.

The main gas pipeline and distribution gas pipelines are designed for a working pressure of 54 bar. The current working pressure is 40 bar, and the annual quantity of natural gas transported in the last 3 (three) years is 350 million Nm3. The largest consumers are the cogeneration plant for production of electricity and heat - TE-TO AD Skopje and the industrial consumers in the city of Skopje.

The lengths of the main gas pipeline and distribution gas pipelines, as well as the outer diameter of the pipes, are shown in the table below:

In addition, at the locations of the valve stations of the distribution gas pipeline Skopje South and the distribution pipeline Skopje North, and in front of the main metering and regulating stations MMRS Skopje South and MMRS Skopje North, 2 (two) cyclone filter stations have been installed to protect against impurities, dust and condensate from natural gas that could come through the main gas pipeline.

Protection of the pipeline from corrosion is carried out with the cathodic protection system by means of protectors and cathodic stations.

On the high-pressure part of the transmission system there are 7 (seven) main metering and regulating stations (MMRS) that reduce the pressure from the main gas pipeline and thus connecting the high-pressure part with the low-pressure city networks in the cities of Kriva Palanka, Kratovo , Kumanovo and Skopje.

CITY GAS PIPELINE NETWORKS

The natural gas through the main metering and regulating stations (MMRS) is reduced and transported through the city gas pipeline networks to the metering and regulating stations (MRS), which are exit points from the system, where qualitative and quantitative delivery of natural gas to consumers is carried out to the users of the system.

Connection

The connection to the natural gas pipeline transmission system is a procedure of connecting installation construction by which the potential user is connected to the system. Having filed a request and having defined the technical conditions, the connection procedure is initiated in compliance with the Network Code and the existing legal regulative. In the projected period, a connection approval is issued.
